I haven't bought anything either although I read a couple of forum entries and it looks like the money (or at least part of it) goes to a charity - Save the Albatross. I never heard of it before. I might try to look it up tonight.
I just tried to update and I think the server called me a tard. The message was in French so I'm not positive. It wouldn't let me change anything so I guess my magnificent run so far is now down the toilet.
Re buying stuff. I've had a read of what you can buy and, apart from perhaps the sail repair kit, the others don 't seem very useful and as a matter of fact could be dangerous to use.
For example the auto helm. This keeps the wind at the same angle to your boat - which would logically give you confidence in consistent speed. But if the wind swings 25 degrees or even 45 degrees you would be heading off in completely the wrong direction. Also the auto-sail seems a good idea to auto switch between jib and spinnaker, but doen't work if you are on pro sails, which I am a lot!

I am not buying anything so we can keep this competition fair. I was thinking the only two things that are helpful would be the sail repair and the autohelm to keep the wind at the same angle to the boat.
