Default Machine shop owners - question

What N/C programming software does your engineering dept use for 3,4 and 5 axis programs , Mastercam , Catia version 5 or Unigraphics??
I am trying to determine what is the most popular software.

Thanks
Artie

You are going to get as many different answers as there is software, I used Mastercam, Gibbs, Hurco, Edgecam, Charmilles had there own version, are you looking to buy one?..
What type of work does your shop do?

What do you use now?

I am looking to get a business started writing programs for aircraft parts. I am very proficient in 3,4 and 5 axis programming using Catia V5 but if the shops out there don't use V5 what good is it.
My preference would be to use a system that a majority of the shops use. From my research I have found that Mastercam , Unigraphics and Catia are the most popular with the larger shops , I am looking to see what the majority use.
Presently i have Catia V5 and a copy of Mastercam X thru my friend's shop.

So your looking to start a contract programming company...

I wish you luck, as a former programmer I have found that most shops want people on staff doing hands on. Not a lot of demand for just come hand us the program and walk out the door, their biggest fear is you stealing the work.

I would call shops in your area who you hope to sell to and straight up ask them ... test the market before you dump money in it.
