Random Quote: This aint 3rd grade kickball.. you don't get any " Do Overs"
Well, being a BIG fan of the Indiana Jones movies (except #2, The Temple Of Doom...that one blew chunks), I went to the late showing of Indy 4 last night. Surprisingly, there were only 4 other people in the theatre, and, it was the new cinema in town...really nice. Leather reclining chairs, folding arm rests, leg room galore, wonderful stadium seating, HUGE screen, EXCELLENT sound, couldn't ask for better...I'd say, it's the BEST I've ever been in.
But, my review, without any spoilers...on my Indy scale...it goes in this order, best to worst: THE LAST CRUSADE, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, TEMPLE OF DOOM. But, don't be thrown off by that order. It was a solid 6.5 to 7, IMO, out of a possible 10. In the first half of the movie, our hero, seemed a bit rusty, had a bit of trouble getting back into character...not bad, just, a bit "off". As the movie picks up, he really began to shine. And, I don't know if they did it on purpose, or if it was just me, but, he looked alot older in the begining of the movie, not at all like Indy, even, an older Indy...but, as the movie progressed, he really started to look better, like Indy should, and he really got into the part, by the middle of the flic, it was like old times again.
In closing, I will say, I went in not expecting much, based on reviews , which I really NEVER really pay too much attention to, I wonder if those critics are even living, breathing people, and, from other forums from folks that actually saw the movie...it was a mixed bag, to say the least.I truely enjoyed this Indy romp...but, keeping that in mind, hope they leave it alone from here. I think, that Spielberg and Lucas (more Lucas) are losing their edge, (again, more Lucas...I don't really care for him or his body of work, for the most part). But, something tells me, they have more instore for the Indiana Jones franchise after watching the end of this movie...which, will probablly include Harrison Ford...but, perhaps more to pass the torch on to someone else. I hope not.
Please, comment, if you saw it, let me know if you agree or not with my review/observations/conclusions. Thank you for your attention. Class dismissed.
Re: SAW INDIANA JONES 4 LAST NIGHT....no spoilers...
My daughter (13) and her friends saw it and they unanimously proclaimed that it "sucked, BIG TIME"-this from huge fans of the the previous movies. The consensus was that this movie took ideas too far and was just plain stupid-never made them think it was believable (as much as it can be). Good kids...
Re: SAW INDIANA JONES 4 LAST NIGHT....no spoilers...
My family and I liked it. Sure there were parts that were unrealistic.......but, I simply had to remind myself that it was not unlike the previous Indy's.
For realism, I would score it low, but for the pure entertainment value, which was the reason I saw it, I would score rather high. I would recommend it unless you are looking for a documentary.

My advice, just go see it, don't go into it expecting a blockbusting epic, keep an open mind, you& the kids will have fun...BTW, did you ever read my question to you in the other post...if so, why don't you answer me....???
RE: SAW INDIANA JONES 4 LAST NIGHT....no spoilers...
I saw it opening day, not to bad of a movie. Just not up to par as the others were. Maybe I went in expecting to much. Wife said she really like it Go Figure

Hopkins, my apologies.. but where was the reply, I cant find it... sry dude....
Basically, your location says L.I Sound. I used to fish and also rake skimmer clams in the deep waters. I asked if you ate of age to remember a local "DOORS" tribute band, they were called "L.A.WOMAN," lead singer was Beau Hulse. Also, asked if you may have known/know a man by the name of John Morris...a now retiered school teacher that had several seafood shops, he is a great friend of mine. Thats about it.

I think I do remeber that band - Late 80- early 90's right . for some reason ... Ron Delsner enterprises...." keeps running through my head HAHA
I never saw them but if I am not mistaken they were around when the LBI south was a huge hotspot. What part of LI were you from? My tag says LI sound, but im from the north side of Li. Sound......CT haha. I spend almost ever weeekend in LI , anywhere between Port Jeff and Port washington. But mostly in or around Oyster Bay. Im heading out to Freeport this weekend , where are the Morris shops located? Ill make an extra stop just to check it out...

Re: SAW INDIANA JONES 4 LAST NIGHT....no spoilers...
I agree with the OP - except - I liked the first one the best - the 3rd second. I also did not like the Temple of Doom. I have gone to 2 movies in the last 3 weeks - with my wife and kid - my kid loves movies -
We were at a graduation party yesterday and the conversation turned to movies and I said that I had seen this one and Ironman. I said I liked Ironman better and my kid interrupted me to say that, no, Indiana Jones was better than Ironman (I still disagree - but he is 6 years old). I was actually shocked that he felt that way as he seemed to enjoy Ironman better. By the way he watched the first 3 IJ movies at home over the last few weeks in preparation
Re: SAW INDIANA JONES 4 LAST NIGHT....no spoilers...
I just saw it at "Chunkys Cinema Pub." Our lunch came just after the openning scene. I was waiting for a break in the action so I could eat withut missing anything. I dont know how long it took but my meal was not so warm by the time I gave up picking and dug into it!
Like the other I.J.movies there were big holes in the story but it was great fun. Maybe they'll continue the series with "Mutt."
Re: SAW INDIANA JONES 4 LAST NIGHT....no spoilers...
Well, my wife & kids went to see Indy 4 today, while I sweated out in the hot, humid, southern sun, rewiring & rigging my boat sitting on the trailer.
They ALL said it was a SOLID 10 out 0f 10....they LOVED it. Maybe it's better than my 6.5 to 7 rating, I was really tiered when I went to see it, and, in alot of pain, so, perhaps that affected my perspective on the movie...think i'll go see it one more time....it was good enough to warrant a second viewing, IMO.
