So...anybody else here anxious to go and see the long anticipated and the last Indiana Jones movie with H.Ford as Indiana...?
I know I am. I loved the first one, hated the second one, the third one was awsome...
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that Spielberg and that fat head Lucas didn't mess the last one up...it would be a shame if they do.
Gotta go out with a BANG!!!
For instance, one of my FAVORITE television shows, BOSTON LEGAL, will have its final season in 2009. There will be only 13 episodes. this show is GREAT! I love William Shatner, always been a big fan, after all, he IS captain Kirk...the BEST Star Trek captain, EVER!!! I also like James Spader. While I am sad to see it leaving the air, I would rather it go out on top of its game, than sink until it becomes unbearable to watch, like so many shows have and do.
Another fine example, LOST, Next year will also be its final season, but, they started with a story/plot, with an end already sealed and locked in the vault. It will play out to its conclusion next year, and, then, it's over. I like that...a begining and an ending, with a sure and direct path from the pilot episode to the final episode.
One good thing, that'll free up 2 nights a week during the season...leaving me only one show to loyally watch..."24" Which, at this point, I don't see it lasting more than another season, maybe two. Then, I'll just watch t.v. here & there...FAMILY GUY, SOUTH PARK, KING OF THE HILL, all shows I enjoy, but don't follow on any regular basis. I do like Discovery and History channels, depending whats on. I used to like the SciFi channel, but, it's really not that good anymore.
Oh...I forgot one show I LOVE...The SARAH SILVERMAN SHOW, yeah, thats one show that brings me to tears i laugh so hard durining most episodes...I would recommend that to all of you...it'll be back on Comedy Central whenever they start the new season...writers srtike messed it up this season.
But, other than those few shows, i rarely even turn the tube on anymore...just not much on worth wasting the time...if I want to go to sleep, all I have to do is go lay on the couch, and click on the t.v., dosen't take long...problem is, I wake up with a hurting back and neck...can't take the couch...maybe when I get back from Maine, I'll shop around for a new couch, yeah, one I can sleep on and wake up and still be able to walk.
Well, I'm finished running off at the mouth for tonight. I think I'll get up at 5 AM, hit the inlet, see if I can catch a few flounder or trout....good night, all you wonderful people
I've read mixed reviews about the movie. Those most critical of the film didn't seem to enjoy the "supernatural outer space type characters". But most thought it would be well received.
Roger Ebert: "If you like the first three Indie films, you'll enjoy this one. If you didn't, there's no talking to you."

I know that Lucas originally wanted Indiana Jones to be a 5 part series. I've heard that still may be possible depending upon how well this is received.
He was to old for airforce one, he is def to old for indiana jones#4......ill still watch it anyways
I respectfully disagree. just because he is older, dosen't mean he is "too old". Same with William Shatner...he could easily play the role of the legendary Captain Kirk again...and, would be widely accepted, there are many of us that grew up with these beloved characters, I, for one, don't let the age of the actor influence me in a negative way...I embrace the aging process if it is properly incorporated into the role that the actor is playing in any particular movie. As long as the actor isin't so far gone that it would be a sad mockery to have them star in the title role again, I'm all for it.
I know that the script will deal with Indy's age, they won't ignore it, nor should they, we all grow old, why exclude someone from reprising a role in a movie based on age?
Star Trek dealt with the aging of the main characters in the final movies (the original cast) in a wonderful, heartfelt way. I would love to see William Shatner back as Kirk one more time...he could stand to lose a few pounds...but, NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY will EVER replace the Shat as captain Kirk. He made that character come to life, he owns it, he IS captain Kirk.
Bye for now (JD...I'm sure you recognize that sign off line "Fly me with balloons....")
Obviously, your not a fan of william Shatner....but, there are far more people that would disagree with you, but, bless James Doohan, he also was a fine man, a war hero, and, also MADE and OWNED the role of Scotty...and, as with the Shat, NOBODY will EVER replace him, either, in my opinion...and, as you are entitled to yours, so I am mine. WARP SPEED!

And...one more thought, there, menzz...may you find the strength, energy, and lust for life at the age of 77 as the Shat has, he is truely an AMAZING man, he is involved in more projects now than ever before...the man is like the energizer bunny...you have to give credit where credit is due.
