Louisiana – Toledo Bend Reservoir

Is anyone here familiar with the Toledo Bend Reservoir in Louisiana? … and in particular, the Sabine Parish area? I’m looking for any first-hand information I can get on the area. Thanks.

What's "bassfishing"???

That's funny because for awhile during the prohibition years my grandfather called the Federal Penitentiary at Leavenworth 'home' for that very reason. Well, for that, arson, and bribing judges. When gramps got arrested for the moonshine operations in Kansas and Missouri, his partner, Charles Arthur Floyd (Google the name), didn't. I have wondered if prison is what allowed gramps to survive those years.

The funny thing is the feds never verified gramp's status. In 1994 my grandmother told the family that my grandfather never naturalized, he was an illegal alien. That makes my mother is an anchor baby.
