Default read any good books lately?

i just finished one called "your inner fish" by neil shubin. it traces the evolution of the human body back through the fossil record and genetic research to show the origins of our primary structures...teeth, limbs, eyes, etc

sounds dry but it really is fascinating reading

post up some good books you think others would like

I am almost finished with the latest W.E.B. Griffin book - "The Shooters". The other 37 books he wrote are equally as good as the current one. I highly recommend this author.

My wife wants me to read the "Fair Tax" book ....... she thinks it is nonfiction, I think it should be labeled as fiction.

Roger that. I would also add every Lee Child book to the list......you have to love the Jack Reacher character.

You may also enjoy "One Tough Marine" which is about a marine jumper that lost his leg but was able to convince the Corp that he could remain in the marines and fight

And "About Face" by David Hackworth. His life story joining the military at 14 at the end of WWII and fighting in Korea and Vietnam.

I would encourage everyone to read "The Great New Orleans Gun Grab" which is about the confiscation of firearms from law abiding citizens in Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. A recent factual look at our helpful government.

Not really for everyone but as a new father of a baby girl, I am reading "Strong Father Strong Daughter" and it is definitely an eye opener on the effects that a father can have on his little girl.

Done the Hackworth books. I'll look for the marine book.

Another good one about the Legion is Mouth Full Of Rocks by Christian Jennings.

Flyboys
Generals Die in Bed
In Harm's Way
Ship of Ghosts
We Were Soldiers Once, and Young

Good reading. all...

Batavia's Graveyard is probably my favorite book ever.

The Gulag Archipelago is just damn disturbing. It's fascinating though. It shows in great detail exactly what was so bad about the Soviet Union if the explanation of "we good, they bad" was not enough when you were in grade school.

I would like to hear a brief review of "How to neglect a once-loved website and turn it into a piece of excrement because it has become unusable and reminiscent of 1994 technology" from the owner of this website. I can tell it's required reading at THT headquarters.

I couldn't agree more

Gold Coast is the great American novel.

Plum Island got my kids into reading.

Up Country is my personal favorite - WOW

And don't forget Word of Honor -- Holy Novel - if that doesn't open your mind....

Also Grishams latest is pretty darn good - The Settlement - I think - I'll look it up now. My daughter lives in Miss and says yep - thats the way it is...

His last few didn't measure up to the earlier ones...
