Default Christmas Gift Help

How about this for an idea.

For the past few years I have struggled to find my wife something for Christmas. We have been married for 27 years and pretty much have all the stuff we "need" and most of what we "want".

So how's about a thread for those of us struggling with gift ideas to ask our THT brethren.

So if you are struggling go ahead and post:

What the person you are buying for likes to do.
Price range (not total spend but what each gift's range should be).

And let's see the suggestions.

I'll go first.

The missus likes to: work out every morning, play tennis, eat out, entertain at home (groups of 5 couples), read, walk the dog for miles, is into her children (all at school/college). She has an SUV. Boating style is pleasure boating. She reads for the blind at the local NPR raidio station and runs the SCRIP program at school.

Range: $100-200, with one big gift if suitable.

Let's hear them - suggestions and requests for suggestions.

A full treatment at a good Day Spa. A couple of hundred bucks; she can do it on her schedule; and she will most certainly thank you for it.

Menzies,
You left out one critical datum....what message do you want the gift to carry?
It could be "I cherish you above all the stars in the heavens...nay...above my own life"
or it could be
"It's December, so I have to give you SOMETHING"
or anything in between.

So Sheila,

Are you saying you wouldn't want an 80wide on a bent butt rod for Christmas?

My bent over wife might get a 7.5 wide in the butt if she drinks enough wine.

Message: Thanks for the three wonderful (most of the time) children and the 27 years. Let's hang around for at least one more!

We generally don't buy each other anything for Christmas, we have Christmas all year long....if we need it or want it we just go and buy it. Per say there is nothing left to buy for under the tree come Christmas time. But in saying that, sometime before the 25th we will go and buy ourselves some new Christmas decorations....dolls or what nots....things to fancy up the house in the Christmas spirit.

How about a MP3 player for her runs and walks? Maybe satellite radio for the car or her walkman?
