Loading the truck heading for the woods The hot air coming from all the talking heads on the news might be enough to rush it s development. Get a case of beer and enjoy rainy weekend

I'm surprised there hasn't been a call for mandatory evacuations yet. Just in case, I'll buy 600 gallons of water. Then I'll get my life jackets out, then I'll get my generator hooked up in the living room in case the lights go out.

Stephen, it's not going to be much. Just a lot of rain Saturday and Sunday.

Any way you look at the hurricane season this year is has been good for everyone one the coast. Who knows, another 5 or 10 years of seasons like this and you'll be able to get some insurance again.

The media is desperate for a storm. If someone farts off the coast of Africa all the weather fairies in South Florida get hard ons.

That's dangerous....

The noisy muffler might damage your hearing, plus gasoline spills on carpet creates a fire hazard. Put it in the kitchen on the linoleum.

Plus it is a good idea to run 12-2 strait to the panel. Just double up for 220.

every tv station here has been on the rant of "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" for the last 3 days. I am soooooo tired of the self induced panic, the media stories of the fema trailers and the second guessing by our "leaders". no wonder I couldn't sell my home if I had to.

Is it just me, or are we seeing something new here in regards to the forecasting of these storms. I've found that the most accurate forecasts come from expert weather bloggers (Jeff Masters on wunderground.com is my favorite). I've been keeping up with this one for a week, and all of my research showed that there would be very little development....and for the last day or so, this thing was clearly taking a northerly track. Yet, the forecasts and models from the mainstream media kept it heading along the coast and impacting as many people as possible. It seems to me that these forecasts are not being made according to fact, but instead are being based on how to minimize criticism and blame after landfall. I think all the Katrina BS has put the media, weather forecasters, and local govt. officials into "CYA" or "cry wolf" mode. This is not good in my opinion.....over time people will realize that they are fudging thier forecasts and will stop listening to them altogether.

Weather forecasting has now become a political science, as in Global Warming Political Science.

I could not agree more, I think Jim Catnorie gets sexually aroused when they see some wind off the Africa coast
