I don't see what the big deal is honestly.. Look at her? Does she really need a brain to get by in life? Hell if she was of age I'd marry her... Best part of all she'd never be able to leave my sorry ass, because she wouldn't be able to find her way out of the garage (well, at least not without a...... MAP! )
Man, this deal just keeps popping up everywhere. Bless her heart! She would have won that contest if she had answered,
"This is an example of why America is in trouble. Anybody who couldn't find the U.S. on a world map should be sent to whatever country they could identify." She would have won then!
Has anybody heard about how they came up with that number when the statement was made that 1/5 of Americans couldn't find the U.S. on a world map?
Let's just hope the question was posed only to teens.

The local talk radio shows here in SC are giving her a fit. They have gone way past the point of "yeah, she said something dumb and it was funny" type stuff to just being completely mean. Anything for ratings I suppose.
But really--what do folks expect from her? She's what..18? And in a beauty contest? Are they looking for her to rattle off the laws of thermodynamics?
Being that she is local (within 100 miles anyway), I wish she would call in to one of these shows and catch them completely off guard--it would be great to hear them speechless for a moment.
Sure, it was funny to hear her answer, but she's just a kid on national television. It's not as though she couldn't point to the U.S on a map herself, I hope!
Given the statistic quoted, one in five people who listen to the radio couldn't find the U.S. on a world map. Why isn't anyone talking about that?
