Default Auto Ins? Progressive or Geico?

I currently have Progressive, but Geico just quoted me $680 less per year for the same coverage, or $340 every six months. My boat is also insured with Progressive BTW.

Just looking for pros and cons of each company.

Thanks!

They are insurance companies, what possible "pros" could they have?

If your worried about money only...go for it. On the other hand if you want prompt, professional claims handling...neither company.

Take a few hours and drive around to local bodyshops. Ask two questions:

1. Are you a DRP (direct repair provider) shop for Progressive or Geico? If they answer yes...skip asking question 2 and go to the next shop.

2. What are the good and bad insurance companies you deal with?

You'll see a pattern after a few shops.

I have to agree with the above two posts. A: they're "insurance" companies.......enough said. B: I chose to do business with insurance companies that have local offices I can visit IN PERSON and pay my bills, etc....ie: State Farm, Farmers, etc....

Several years ago we nearly got "sucked into" bein' a Geico customer without even ASKING to be~!

Good luck with whatever you chose to do.
