Wow...listening to the post game interviews, I think Ohio State should challenge the Gators to a spelling bee...that they would win. I will say this, there is no contest on which team is getting a better education and has the ability to communicate so the majority of Americans can understand what they are saying. Seems sticking around doesn't help the phonics, but does help with the defense of a championship. Way to go!
Ohio state acutally had the lowest graduation rate of all NCAA schools over the past 5yrs for basketball at only 10% avg!
..I'm sure it is...all you had to do was listen to the interviews of the players from both teams. Unless you are deaf...and uneducated yourself, I am certain you too would find the speaking skills of the OSU players far exceeded the U of F players...or is it playa's.
Come on, if your facts are true, there needs to be an investigation on Fla sliding athletes through the system, because I don't see too many Fl grads in the NBA...or past BBall players heading up businesses (ligit).
Is the way a player speaks in a post-game interview the measure of his intelligence? Could it be he was just fired up and goofing around? You guys are pathetic.
Joakim Noah is of Cameroonian descent, and of French and Swedish descent and nationality, born to Yannick Noah, a former French professional tennis player and 1983 French Open Champion, and Cécilia Rodhe, Miss Sweden 1978. He competed on basketball teams for several high schools, first at the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York City, later transferring to Poly Prep in Brooklyn, New York where he was coached by Bill McNally, and then to Lawrenceville, outside of Princeton, New Jersey. At UNIS he was coached by Alsonso Shockley and Harry Muniz. He reached the championships as the only sophomore on the team. After that he left to Lawrenceville to further his basketball career. At Lawrenceville, Noah averaged 24.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, leading his team to a New Jersey Prep 'A' state title. (from Wiki)
He did not grow up in Hell's Kitchen. I went to school in Lawrenceville, NJ. It's a very nice suburban area near Princeton.
But I must agree. He did sound like a punk when Jim Nance interviewed him.
I agree that Joakim did sound like an inner-city rapper, but I think he was euphoric and goofing off - his dad is a rapper in France. And, every school, even Ohio State has its share of student-athletes who are light on the student (remember Maurice Clarett?), but not the Gators bb players. They are all upstanding, three of which turned down the green of the NBA. Let's see how many OSU players who have the potential for the NBA don't go!

Why should they stay? Potential? Oden is the real deal and ready for the NBA. The NBA game is what he's made for. It makes no sense to play in a league he has outgrown.
noah and (percy harvin for football) should think about what they say on a WORLDWIDE broadcast.....but hey @19 and 22 years of age, with a national title in the books who knows what would come out of your mouth?
Go Gators - and BTW noah said silly things after last year too...just that he was not as much of a famous target then
in college rankings a 47 is 10 better than 57.....as the lower ranking is better.....just like a 65 is 10 strokes ahead of a 75 in golf.
