Gringo,
For very small , lite gage material , ya there ok .
I would not use them on anything I would put my life on.
The type of wire they use is not suitable for high strength , ductile welds . Meaning you aint gonna weld a trailer hitch with it and bet my life on it.
The last one I welded with was a Hobart [ Fiat of welders ] 220 V single phase running flux core. It had a little more balls than the 110 V and did ok on a small at home fence job at a friends house. Once I got him dialed in on he was cooking with gas..
Then I spent the next few months redoing stuff he thought he could weld.
Man , I'm telling ya that guy went nuts, can Iweld this can I weld that , tell me what I can weld , quick I need a fix.
Dude I'm telling ya he was Jones en bad.
If your not welding thinner than 1/8" throw another $150 with it and get a AC/DC stick welder [ little red LINCOLN buzz box ] you can do a whole lot more with it.
The best thing to do is get a good book on welding [ AWS , American welding Society ] and read up on what different wires and rods, Aka ELECTRODES, can do and where to use them.
And of course , practice practice practice.
