When I got my first real boat, I was single, but I was dating the girl that would later become my wife. Her smart-as$ step-dad suggested that I name the boat "Lisa's Ring". Some thought it was hysterical. Me - not so much.

I had dreamed of owning a boat for years. When we bought our first boat in 1978 my wife's income went toward the boat. My son wanted to name it, DAD'S DREAM, MOM'S MONEY.

There was a boat here in CT that was once owned by The senator Stewart McKinney who was openly gay. Afterwards the new owners named the boat the "GS" Short for Gay Seamen...
