I took the money I was going to buy my ex-girlfriend a ring with and put it towards my boat. My dad joked with me and said what are you going name her? Only one came to mind.

Luck for me when I met my wife she thought the name was hilarous!

I do get some funny looks on the water!

Default New Name

If you've ever pulled into a slip on the Merrimack river in Newburyport, you'll
know why I chose "Slip Sliding Aweigh" for my Robalo.

I've seen most of the common ones (listed in the previous 21 pages), but the funniest one that I've seen was on a decked out walk around:

I named my boat, Seadonkey. Always gets a chuckle.

edit: I remember seeing a pic somewhere of a large boat and a dinghy. The dinghy's name was Requisition, the boat's name was Change Order.

(Where the)
PHUGAWEE? (pronounced fug..ah..wee, emphasis on the "ah")

(as in ...where the f..k are we?)

Appropriate when SCUBA diving, upon surfacing, looking for the boat...

The older codgers on the Board will remember the old 60's TV show "F-Troop", with Forrest Kelly...remember the Indians that used to hang out at the fort gates.....the first few episodes, the tribe was called the Phugawee Indians...as in "Where are the Phugawees?" That got caught by the censors pretty quickly, and was altered to be the "Heckawees".

For a trailer boat "I pull out"

"I like it trimmed"
"Keep Her Trimmed"
"Rubber Ducky" saw on a yellow formula
"Plane Shame" saw on a trawler

My Father named all his boats YES DEAR . That is because my mother always accused him of yessing her to death and doing what he wanted anyways.

Saw a kid in a beat up old hand painted skiff at the Greenport maritime festival in a boat named "Bunker Bitch II"
It gave me a good chuckle to see this boat cruising through all the yachts and go-fasts.
