Default E120 Questios

I have an E120 on my boat and from one day to the next my GPS stopped receiving a signal. The green led light on the antenna is glowing. Is there a simple check I could make before I call a tech?
I am currently on ver 3.22. Is there an upgrade that is worthwhile to have?
Thanks in advance for anyy tips.

The first thing to check is your connection. The connectors they include to connect to SeaTalk are not always the best to use as soldering your connections and using heat shrink tubes are a more assured way to connect bare wires. According to Raymarine the wires should be connected as follows: Red & Green from the antenna connect to the Red lead on the SeaTalk wire, Yellow to Yellow, and Brown & the shield from the Antenna connect to the Black lead on SeaTalk.

You should also check voltage to make sure the antenna is getting 12 volts with an ohm meter or multi-meter. If you are not comfortable with doing this yourself then you may want to get someone who has done these sorts of installations before. Also you can always contact Raymarine and have them walk you through these steps. If these suggestions do not help, again, call Raymarine for assistance.

Thanks for the reply. I am at my slip now and I am going to check those connections you mentioned. I've got my owner's manual out to check what the flashing green led on the gps antenna means.
Let me ask again, is the upgrade from 3.22 going to give me a noticeable performance change on my applications? I have an open array radar, gps, depth sounder. I doubt I will ever sign up for Sirius weather. I ask this because we don't have very many electronic guys in our neck of the woods and I would have to do the upgrade myself with the attendant risks.
Thanks again

Thanks for your questions. The latest software is version 4.29 and I know that the update will give you further capabilities and perhaps make your experience a little better than before. I would read through the update info page here. I know that there are some parts of the memory that will be erased so make sure you back up your waypoints (as is indicated on the link above). Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,
