Can you recomend a transducer that will do just temp and connect to a DSM 300? I lost the temp in my b256 and I am looking to add a transducer to fix it. I have had a T42 and a T80 recomended, do they both work as well or is one better than the other?

These are smart sensors that you are referring to, and there will be a big difference between the 42 and the 80. With your current transducer being thru-hull I assume that you would not mind putting another hole in the bottom of the boat, which is why I would suggest the 42 (about $150)-- it is a bronze thru-hull, and it will likely give you a much more precise reading than the T80 since that is a transom mounted sensor that is about 1/3 the cost (about $50). If you are not that concerned with precision then the T80 will work just fine, though.
