i bought a c70 from consumers about 3 yrs ago....now when i am motionless the chart starts dancing all over the place...it jerks around rotating around the boat icon...i cant zoon into another area as it wont stay in one place long enough to read. i also noticed that twice recently it gave me a bad chart reference in relation to my position - off about 1/2 mile. and then it will go back to being accurate. i checked sats when it was doing this and all was fine.
this sounds terminal to me...any ideas?

Your boat needs to be in motion for the plotter to determine your bearing and display it properly on the screen. At rest the plotter has no idea whats going on and the map will dance all over the place.

thanks - i thought about that but maybe in the past i had turned off the gps to study the chart. wil give it some more testing to see if it continues to misreprt the boat position on the chart
