The reason those models are not in our catalog are for different reasons. The Globalfix units are now replaced by the iPro (that one is simple

). And the Rapid Fix is not carried because it is basically the iPro but without GPS integrated (minus some other key features).
Personally I think the iPro works a lot better because you don't necessarily have to have the GPS chartplotter feeding your EPIRB GPS coordinates. The RapidFix *must* be hooked to a GPS device outputting NMEA. This is not the most convenient method and (also another opinion of mine) I think its safer with the iPro. The iPro gets the GPS signal at intervals using the internal GPS (you can hook up your own GPS also!-- this updates the GPS signal's intervals to be quicker ensuring more up to date GPS coordinates) that way you have a constant GPS stream.
But what if your GPS has a problem and your not getting updated signals from that? That's why I think the iPro is a better choice if you are going to want GPS's additional piece of mind-- the iPro is just a better product in my opinion. The other unit is a fine product as well, but I think that our idea was that if you want GPS you might as well go all out-- when all's said and done you are getting it to be safe-- not half safe, and if you are just trying to be coast guard approved then we have the other options-- the 406 Satellite2 for instance.
Those are the two customers we see primarily buying EPIRBs so I believe our choices for the catalog represent the best options for boaters out there. It is not because there are any problems with the FCC so don't worry about that-- ACR can probably expand on this more than I can, but there are no issues as far as I know. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks,
Bobby
