Subject: New Software Version 1.08 for TracPhone FB500/FB250
An important new version of software for the TracPhone® FB500 and FB250 is now available to address Inmarsat’s recent spot beam modifications in the I-4 Asia-Pacific region. KVH strongly recommends that you upgrade to this latest version whenever you are installing or servicing one of these systems to prevent terminal login difficulties within the I-4 Asia-Pacific region. KVH will e-mail its current FleetBroadband customers to ask them to download this update over the satellite link.
What’s new in this version?
Version 1.08 fixes a spot beam calculation error affecting FB500/FB250 systems operating in the I-4 Asia-Pacific region. Without this fix, the terminal might select the incorrect spot beam and fail to log into the FleetBroadband network, preventing proper operation. This problem does not affect systems operating in the I-4 Americas or EMEA regions.
Note: If you need to perform this software upgrade on a vessel within the I-4 Asia-Pacific region, you must have the file stored locally on your computer or be certain that an alternate Internet connection will be available onboard the vessel. The vessel’s FB500/FB250 system might not be able to log into the FleetBroadband network prior to performing the software upgrade.
This upgrade is not covered under KVH warranty. The customer is responsible for any dealer service charges.
