Questions to ask before buying Online !
Before you buy from any company or individual online. Ask yourself the following:
1. Does the Company or person have the appropriate amount of liability insurance to cover you and yours should their product fail and cause damage to you or your equipment or worse somebody else’s boat ?
2. Do they have all the licenses and permissions to produce the product you want or need?
3. Do they have a stable brick & stick office and shop, or do they work out of a truck and some dark basement somewhere?
4. Have you thoroughly researched the company or person by searching Google and finding out about their reputation and quality of work preformed?
5. Are they well advertised and accessible, or did you come across them in some small forum hiding behind private areas?
6. Are they going to be available later on when you need support and service?
7. Do they have a no questions asked return policy and if so where can you find that policy in writing?
8. What is their privacy policy concerning your information?
9. Do they have same day turn around on your purchase or will it be a few weeks before they have time to get to you?
10. Do they sell on eBay and if so have you checked their feedback score there?
11. And finally Step back and ask yourself does this feel right or should I be skeptical? If you feel in anyway skeptical then you should re-think your decision.
Remember the money and headache you save by asking yourself these things ahead of time may be your own.
