Default Fall Fishing, Magothy Area

Hi All,
I have some friends coming into the area for the next two weekends and was looking for some fall fishing ideas? This is my first fall on the bay so I have no idea what's hitting out there or what to use.

I went to www.tidalfish.com and didn't see much information. Maybe I'm missing something.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Justin

Stripers and bluefish are presently available in the bay proper. Easily found under birds at present. Trolling and jigging are both working. Topwater action is picking up at this time in the rivers but as usual hotspots get a lot of pressure.

We chummed, eeled the bridge, and jigged yesterday. Only productive method was jigging. Surprisingly eels went untouched on the same pilings that jigs pulled fish off of. Chumming may have been effective but we were set up during a tide change and we lacked current. Jigs used were 6" BKDs.

Here is my buddy who had the jig touch and landed a few keepers with 2 over 28"

Check back at tidalfish. Lack of reports lately have been due to a lot of winds recently.

Nice job B. I haven't been out on the bay in a couple months, but i see the fishing is getting hot again. I plan on hitting the BB area in the next week or two, especially on my week of vacation coming up mid October.

I fish out of the Magothy. There are plenty of fish around. Get out early and look for birds and or marks on your sonar. Have light tackle rods ready with combination of crippled hearings, BKD's, and top water poppers like the gotcha plug. Trolling is not hot right now. Trolling will pick up in Nov when the BIG boys arrive. If want to troll, alwives spoons have been the most productive trolling lure right now. Not many reports of guys hooking up on tandems. Troll the mouth of the Magothy and around Baltimore light during the tide run or when the current is ripping and you're bound to find a fish or two. Stop by Angler's on Rt 50 and they can set you up with spoons, jigs, etc.

Awesome. Thanks for the update. I'm still a lake/freshwater boy from Pennsylvania so this bay fishing is all new to me. I appreciate the help!
