Greg I heard you were supposed to move back up our way!!How have you been?
Just caught up with this thread. Still in FL and will be staying barring any unforseen circumstances. I've decided I like the warm weather better. Have a place at Pirates Cove in NC so that is as far north as I go.

As a previous poster stated, I see tidalfish as a fishing discussion board and TheHullTruth as a boating forum.

I post more on TF than the THT and believe some of the older posters have moved to the background. There is a some of the we vs. them when discussing commercials and recs, or the practice of ho-ing. But, I do think both TF and THT are a great resource. As with any on-line info -- you have to filter what's of value and what's garbage.

I don't think Brandon's oversight of the board is a problem. If a post contains inappropriate language or includes personal attacks it should be banned. Is there really a need for a BS board on a fishing board?

Most everyone that I have met off of the TF board are decent/nice guys. TF and THT compliment each other very nicely.

If you are in the Va Beach area - www.vbsf.com is a good "fishing" site - less TF drama

It's official........Tidalfish has shut down and all it's members have moved to the Bilge!!!

I've been a member of both sites for roughly the same amount of time. I don't frequent TF nearly as much as this site, but i personally think it is a really good site for Chesapeake Bay fishing, possibly the best for the areas i fish.
I've found most on there to be helpful and pretty open with information if you take the time to get to know them and talk to them via pm. I've learned a great deal from some of the members on the site.

NO,, long way from dead.
Only fish from Reedsville down to Va beach in Va but most of the talking on TF is done by PM or the thread that only members can view. Once the guys know you and see your serious about the fishing you start getting info and invites to go . One gentleman hit it on the head below. Tidal fish is geared to fishing. THT is your boat and what pulls it and getting everything ready. Since I gave up work in Nov I've been fishing up there at least once usually two and three times a week. Went to a club christmas party and won the door prize and since then have enjoyed the Pms with the others about fishing and where to go. Once the locals see your not just a poster its a very cool sight to enjoy. Brandon has changed the layout today. Having a few issues getting it going but THT has no where near the reports that TF has as to info on fishing.
I enjoy both post and talk way more there, and both have there place. Folks over there dont care what you have as to boat or truck. I myself think Homesites boat is cool. Over there he would not even be noticed. Your known over there by how good a fisherman you are and your photos of your daily catches. The guys around Va beach and CBBT up to OC are serious about their fishing. All the info you need to catch fish is posted every day at one of the locations on the forum.
You mention Yellowfin over there you better be holding it up with blood on it and you to. Thats what Tidal fish is all about.
If you fish with the TV control or mouse in your hand, your not going to enjoy it over there.

VBSF is not very suppotive of the recreational angler. VBSF primary function is for the commercial subscriber, charters, tackle shops, etc. Ain't nothing wrong with this if you are looking to purchase things and hire charters. Too many threads get zapped and deleted if any of the commerical subcribers are offended. Those with commerical subscription have the run of the place, can post anything they want. But a non-commerical subscriber, even one who pays to be a supporter, is a second-class citizen who has to tread very carefully to not offend the commercial subscribers. There are actually very few recreational anglers there...why do you think tidalfish has 1000 times more subscribers and VBSF.

Yea tidalfish has a some drama. All boards do. But the main purpose of tidalfish is for the recreational angler to come together to talk fishing, yea and BS some. The commercial subscriber can post but only under reasonable guidelines and certainly can't just put up a post that is just an advertisement to sell something. I can hardly look at sportfisherman.com anymore as the whole place is just one big advertisement. At least with THT if you get a wheel you don't see a bunch of ads filling up 80% of the screen. Tidalfish has one banner ad up top and that's it. Pretty much primarily use tidalfish as my fishing site and THT as my boating site.

If it's happening, it is on TF and CBA. Most visit both sites regularly.
There are ego's everywhere.
