Been a member since 2001. No problems here. I still find it a better source of info than most of the whining here on THT.

If I want to know what is happening on the bay or in the Potomac or Rapp, I will go to TF. Still works as well as it ever did. Used to prefer PRAC, but the Aimoo fiasco killed it and lots of guys never made it to the new site

Could be, but they are pretty quiet now. Of course, it is nearing the end of the season. Just kind of miss Jim and Jeff and some of the other old timers (wow, is Keech an old timer now?) posting from Mid Potomac, now most reports seem to be from down river, oh well, all boards evolve over time.

I think a lot of people got their ego's stroked by the attention they recieved after posting pic's and locations. After awhile hotspots started getting crowded and people became more tightlipped. People will just move on after awhile too.

I heard, though I have no inside info, that a "real" email address is required there, not a freebie email address. Maybe that is your problem? Otherwise I don't know. Why dont you email the site operator and ask him?

That's what the response says. I don't know what a real address is. I have had this one 10 years through MSN. I was a member before they purged 3 or so years ago. Guess it's me. Contacted site-no response.

Although I don`t post much anymore I have been a member for a long time ,in fact since its inception [Cheasapeake Angler> WWA].Over the years I have met and fished with some very cool people. Some of these guys have become close friends I still do the Wish A Fish event every summer.Like most internet fishing/boating sites infomation that some deem secret will get out much faster than word of mouth, but thats life.

Most of the originals - people who were good fishermen - on TF got smart enough not to post anymore. That happens after you realize you have said too much and you start finding people at all of your spots and the fish gone. You tell one person something on that board and they tell everyone else. Seen it happen all too often. Most of the posters that you have left now are the people who originally didnt know anything and now think they know everything.
That first statement is what bugs me about that place the most... The originials better fisherman... BSBSBSBSBSBS. They just joined the site eariler, thats it. They seem to think that only folks that have been on the internet since the WWA days know how to fish... funny, the best fisherman I know don't even go on the internet.

The amount of ass kissing that goes on over there is flat out amazing. Angler X will make one trip to a location & catch decent rock on a GUIDED trip using the best capt & the board would go ape nuts about it. A local will post a report about catching many large fish (without a guide) & post excellent info about fishing the area & the board will slam them.

Then some yahoo will claim that he invented LTG. Again BSBSBSBSBSBS. Like noone ever fished lite tackle before they read TF? Right. Tell me some more BS.

ok well if you think that people like craig paige and company arent some of the best fishermen in the hampton roads area then i guess you know everything. you probably fall into the latter category that i spoke of earlier - the people who originally didnt know anything and now think they know everything. the people that i am talking about are known to be among the best fishermen/women in the area and you will not hear a peep from them on that board anymore although many of them may still read the site.

thats right... I fall into the latter category. I think I know everything. I should cuz I think that I am great. RIGHT..... But for real, your statements show some of the arrogance I am talking about. There are some new guys that post reports on there that could actually teach some of the guides a thing or two. I know, because I see them outfish everyone, day in, day out.

The dude you mentioned may be a fine fisherman. I don't know & don't care to know. I don't judge folks that way, all fisherman are fine in my book. Many many many many know plenty & get brushed off on that site due to newness/lack of being in the original click. Some of the attidute you display is proof.

Have a merry Xmas & just keep in mind that some of us TF newbies may just be ex-professional fisherman... ever think of that?

I will agree with that 100% The TF site is full for High-school-like clicks. And tons of ass-kissing. But that's just my perception.

WEhenever I go there (went there) I always felt like I went from a mature world (ex-Internet) to a middle-school. Very inmature (albeit some) and the information shared is pretty elementary.
