Ran an eight hour trip this morning with a great group from Louisiana. Left the dock with the winds blowing at 6am. Gulf was 1-2 with short periods out of the SE. First spot and first drop we had a nice keeper triggerfish and a decent black snapper.
We fished hard all day and ended the day with a nice box of fish. We brought home 7 good black snappers, 4 triggerfish and one amberjack. We released a ton of short triggerfish, a couple short amberjacks, 4 juvie cobia and a ton of big red snapper. It was non stop action from the time we put lines in the water until we hit the dock. The guys had sore arms and look forward to any red snapper season we will have next year!
