¼ Day Fishing Trip
$300.00 Special
Quarter day trips will be near-shore to 7 mile range and lasts from 7:00am to 10:00am, 11:00am to 2:00pm or 3:00pm to 6:00pm. During this trip we will fish for Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel and Bluefish, Shark fishing for BlackTip, Hammerhead, Atlantic Sharpnose, Lemon Sharks and Tiger Sharks. Bottom fishing for Black Bass and Grunts. Depending on what fish are most abundant and the season.
This is a GREAT trip for the family!

½ Day Fishing Trip
$425.00 Special
Half day trips will be near-shore to 15 mile range and lasts from 7:00am to 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 6:00pm. During the trip, we will fish artificial reefs, wrecks, and ledges. You can expect to catch species like Black Sea Bass, Gray Snapper, and Sharks depending on what fish are most abundant and the season.

¾ Day Fishing Trip
$625.00 Special
A ¾ day trips will be in the 20 to 30 mile range and run from 7:00am to 2:00pm. We will fish a lot of ledges, wrecks, and coral bottom. The fish will be bigger in size and greater creel limits also. You will be able to catch species like Black Sea Bass, Vermillion Snapper, Gray Snapper, Triggerfish, Grouper, Silver Snapper, King Mackerel, and Sharks. Depending on what fish are most abundant and the season.

Full Day Fishing Trip
$775.00 Special
Full day trips will be in the 30 to 40 mile range and go from 7:00am to 4:00pm.We will fish mostly ledges and live coral bottom. The fish will be the greatest in size. Your main species are Gray Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Grouper, Triggerfish, Silver Snapper, Dolphin, Black Sea Bass, Sharks, King Mackerel, Amberjacks, and Cobia.

Gulf Stream Fishing Trip
$950.00 Special
Gulf stream trips runs are between 55 to 65 miles 6:00am to 6:00pm We will troll for species like Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin, and there is also the possibility of a Billfish like a Sailfish or a Blue Marlin.

On Saturday May the 16 2009 I had the privilege of taking Sonny Moss from Denver NC, Joby Garham from Columbia SC, Larry Graham from Springfield MO ,Larry Hilereth from Mooresville NC on a 3/4 day venture in search of King Mackerel . The sea was Bump so we headed out about 15 miles to start the day. When we got there we put the lines out and trolled around for about 30mins and no hits so we picked the lines and moved to 30 miles out. The water temperature was 70 out there. Upon arrival at the Ledge we marked good Bait. We were immediately rewarded with a King Mackerel about 15 lbs. For the next couple of hours we caught several nice Kings and Spanish Mackerel. We got our limit in King Mackerel (15 of them) and a few Spanish Mackerel troll Pirate Plugs with cigar minnow on them. All in all a awesome day of fishing on the Stand ‘N Down II out of Holden Beach North Carolina!

Holden Beach Fishing Report From Stand N Down Charters

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise

The old adage of calm seas never made a skillful sailor certainly applied to Captain Logan of Standing Down Charters, Holden Beach NC on Saturday’s trip out to the Gulf Stream. With an east wind blowing up 6 ft head seas stacked atop of each other, the Stand ‘N Down II was able to make about 26 kts toward the 100/400 for some Mahi action. Within 8 miles of the destination Capt Logan called for the Black Bart Lures to be put out, hoping that would start the day off right with a Wahoo. Within 10 minutes, the far back line went off with that ole familiar sound as crew members were certain they would have their first Hoo of the morning. Much to the crew’s surprise the fish on the business end of the Black Bart was a King Mackerel in the mid 20 pound range. After arriving at the 100/400 the bite was on! It was a steady bite for nearly 2 hours with gaffer size Mahi showing up in groves. Capt Bob’s Pirate Plugs of South Chatham Tackle earned first place for the Mahi bite. That wishful Wahoo bite finally arrived around noon after a Hoo in the 30 pound range attacked chartreuse Pirate Plug. The Mahi bite continued on until mid afternoon. The great surprise catch of the day did not come until Capt. Logan suggested to the crew they try their hand with some Blue Water Candy Roscoe Jigs. What a great call by Captain Logan for this lead to the catch of the day, a 22 pound beautiful African Pompano boated by Ronnie Ensminger. Now that’s just about as good as it can get. Needless to say it was a great day on the water despite the less than favorable sea conditions and a good time was had by all aboard the Stand ‘N Down II.
