Default Charleston B&B

The wife and I are going to USCG REC Charleston so I can be fingerprinted for license renewal. Been reading the thread on where to eat .... was thinking about maybe staying
in a Bed & Breakfast .... might score some points with the wife ! Any ideas ? Do they run much more than a motel ? Thanks !

My wife and I stayed here last year:

Nice rooms, great breakfasts, and within walking distance of some good restaurants. You pay more at a B&B than at a hotel, but it's always worth it in brownie points with the wife. You can trade those in for lots of fun things......

I've only stayed in Beaufort and yes, much more than hotel! #2 Meeting St. is on the Battery and looks like the coolest, but there are a lot downtown....you could walk to USCG from the Battery. Remember, USCG is NOT open on Fridays!

i take a weekend trip every 3-4 months to Chas and have stayed in 14 different hotels and b and b,s.i reccomend Ansonboro Inn,Indigo Inn and the Vendue Inn.the vendue Inn is right on the water, close to all shopping and within a block of great restaurants.vendue is 2-3 blocks from the market, has a rooftop rest. and bar,and is close to the battery.Chas. is a great town and also has a lot of historical stuff to do.

Default RE: Charleston B&B - Did it ...

Stayed one night in the Ashley Inn and one night in the Cannonboro Inn .... both excellent but Ashley top rate. A breakfast to die for !! I got lots of extra points
for this trip.
Did my time in line at Tradd Street but the paperwork was in order so it wasn't too bad. I bet there were at least 20 folks in and out of there that I saw.
Busy place !!
Thanks to all for the suggestions
