Default Hartwell report

Well I have not had the boat in the water since my trip to the coast a couple of weeks ago. I had to do a little maint on the motor(replaced thermostat gaskets and a thermostat housing that was cracked) and wanted to take the boat out for a spin to make sure everything was ok. Called my neighbor and threw in a couple of reels spooled with leadcore line and headed to the dam area.

We did not hit the water till 12:30pm and had lines in about 10 minutes later, 10 minutes later we boated our first striper(7lbs). I was looking for a a couple to cook for supper on Sunday night so I thought we had a start. Well we pulled lines and battled white caps, wind, rain, wind, wind wind, whitecaps and ended up in a short 2 hour trip we caught 9 fish between 6lbs all the way up to 10lbs and kept a few for supper(I had a new electric filet knife I wanted to try out and that thing is great )

Not a bad trip for a boat check and my first real success with leadcore line, I was impressed but still not sure what the hell I was doing but it worked.

Good report. Stick with the leadcore. It pays off. Good job.

We managed some short fish and 1 nine pounder in Murray Saturday. The wind and rain were relentless. We marked a ton of fish in 30 Ft or less. That is where the big one came from on a cork. Makes me want to pull boards.....
