Default NC WRC mailing problem? LONG

Finally paid of my rig in May.
I know, I know shouldn't finance a toy.
Thought I might head that one off at the pass.

Anyway finance co. sent the title to WRC to clear the
lien. Well, called them today to see why the title hadn't
arrived. They say the title was returned to them
undeliverable. WTF?
Checked the adress they had, all correct.
Did they forget the stamp?

Well quess what? Now I have to fill out a request for a duplcate title. Duplicate? I don't want no stinking duplicate. I want the Orig. Sounds like I did something wrong.

Kinda wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Oh yeah, the DUPLICATE, is going to cost me $10.00.
Yes, I have the ten bucks. It just feels like they are squeezing me for $.
I don't mind a processing fee, Everyone else gets one from me. Just call it that!
This year I have recieved 3 other titles, no prob.
None of my Bills have any problems getting here.

My dought stems from 3 years ago the WRC sent me a bill for taxes I supposedly didn't pay when I bought this rig. Including penalties and interest. Had to send them a copy of the bill of sale to clear that one.
They don't even give a registration on a new boat till thats paid. So I wonder how many NC boaters couldn't provide proof and had to pay it, or just sent it in. They said that was part of a survey.

Sorry for the long read.
If you'll hand me that ladder I'll get down off this soapbox.
Has anyone else had this problem? Seems FISHEY to me.

You are not the only one that has experienced a problem. I have read several posts like this over the last couple years. Not sure what is going on, bu they need to fix it. It seems the only way you can ensure things are done right is to do it yourslef in person at the WRC in Raleigh.

Thanks for the reply Hot spot.
Just got off the phone w/2 WRC ladies the first was no help!
She said they DESTROY the title after 60 days!!!!! She said it was returned undeliverable,
after she confirmed my name AND correct address.
I ask her how she would feel if her title was destroyed after only one try.

She said I was getting personal because I ask her opinion.

Then I ask to speak to her supervisor, a very nice lady who agreed to wave one of the $10
fees for a dupl.
I told her that I had no problem w/a process fee but that I shouldn,t have to pay
for something I had no control over.
She said she would check w/her super about waving the OTHER $10 fee and send me a dupl.
for $0. If I agreed to pay if it came back again.

The main part that sticks in my mind about the first conv. The lady said it was normal buisness practice
not to send out another letter if one came back. We are not talking about a invitation for
a credit card, we are talking about my BOAT TITLE. It gets destroyed after 60 days.
"we don't have a place to store them". Funny my boat registration gets here when it's supposed to.
Which I just renewd (for three years). So I feel they knew the adress was good.

Anyway Your tax dollars at work!

Boy I feel better now!
Thanks for a place to vent!

This is what I don't get. Why do you have to "hound" these folks to get sh!t done anyway? Ain't it their job? This reminds me of how much time I spent trying to register a Jon boat many years ago. And when I sold it, I went through the same stupid crap again. I guess our tax dollars do not provide well enough for them to employ intelligent people.

Slowly step away from the ladder. Whew...caught myself....almost got wound up.

HAPPY ENDING!

Got my title today!
Seems the adress they had worked just fine after all!!!
GO FIGURE.

Well the last lady I talked to sent a little hand written note.
HAPPY BOATING.
I guess they're not all bad after all.

VERY frustrating to begin with.
Alls well that ends well.
