I fished the Tourney this past weekend. Great Tourney, just wish we had some better luck. Caught 1 King within 5 mins of having the lines in the water. Fish had some good weight to her but tip to fork was only 31 inches needed 32 oh well. Also boated a really nice Dolphin, and released a little shark. Had one strick on a planer and ended up bending the hook straight. We never saw the fish, but I have NEVER seen a fish run like this with a planer. Our best guess is that is was probably a Sailfish, considering from what he heard a few other boats caught sailfish.

The storm that blew down from from Cape Lookout, made us change our orignal plans. We ended up running about 10 miles to get away from it. Also one of our crew is in the Coast Guard, and got recalled for a case while we were 18 miles from his station. That changed our Plans ALOT, during the run all he said was "I'm Sorry" but I along with everyone else on the boat was like, NO PROBLEM YOU to work, WE THANK YOU for what you do!!
I just hope it wasn't the 60 lbs King that would have made me $15,000 richer. Oh well, there is always next year. And we WILL BE BACK!!!

Was your CG buddy recalled for the boat found "abandoned" in the thread above. ? I was scanning the VHF back at headquarters and the CG issued the report of an empty boat adrift.

Thanks for fishing. See ya next year.

BTW, a lot of the bigger fish were over on the East Side thought the #2 fish was caught just outside Beaufort Inlet.

Yes that is why my buddy was recalled. He is stationed on the Block Island out of Beaufot Inlet.
