Re: INFO PLEASE!!! What would you suggest??? You may also want to add Shimano Sonora's to that list, I have the 4000 and my Dad has the 1500. For bass you probably want one of the mid size Shimanos that can handle 6-10lb line (I use 12lb, but I am chasing cats, not bass). Front drag types are a little better than rear drags, and the ones with the trigger (quickdraw?) are kind of a neat feature, but not really necessary.
I also have a light action 7' bionic blade rod with a little Shimano TX reel from BPS that is holding up well and makes a fun light tackle set up. For feeling what is going on with your lure or bait they are nice.
You probably want to stick with a light or medium light action rod in the 6'-7' range. Shimano also makes some nice rods at pretty good prices, but it can be hard to beat the BPS combo pricing.
If you traded over to live/cut bait, a mid range Ugly Stick would take a lot more abuse.
