Default Gulfstream report from OIB

The weather was great Saturday so Island Time slipped out of Shallotte inlet @ 4:45 Sat. morning being carefull of the low tide and headed for the 100/400 area. We were treated to a decent ride and a few fish to boot. The final tally was 4 gaffer dolphin and 1 46 lb. citation wahoo. Execpt for a few problems with the new S1000 AP everything else on the boat did great did great.

gman,

sounds like your day was very similar to ours. We were further north around the Steeples finishing up near Gene's Ledge. What baits did you catch yours on?

Great day, we went offshore as well on the Grumpy Too to the blackjack hole. Huge rip several miles long we didn't leave all day, nor did 15 or so other boats. Final tally was 4 large mahi and one 40 lb yellowfin. Don't want to mention the number of mahi that got off within 10 ft of the boat though. Thought we had a few wahoo cut off baits as well. If we could have boated everything, well over a dozen. Perfect first trip of the year.

Wahoo came on a purple and black, dolphin came on various rigs blue/white and hot pink. We also had a few other short strikes and missed one of three on a triple header. It was really a great day on a small boat like mine. I ran with two other buddy boats that came out of Lockwood Folly.
