Default A Sad Day

Mr. Donald Willis, owner of Custom Marine Fabrication, New Bern left us Feb 8th. Just found out. I've known him for 15 years. A fine gentleman, started out with only a little and left a million dollar business. Most important, he never took advantage of anyone. One of the very first T-top builders in NC. Wrote the specs for NC Wildlife boat's T-Tops.

He wasone of the few in the boat business, heck any business, one could hand cash to and expect a properly made product (without a contract). One of Donald's favorite stories...

"An individual came up to me at the Virginia Boat Show, said he had one of my T-Tops on his boat for 10 years. Last year, he bought a new boat."

"Well" Donald asked "Why didn't you come to me for a new T-Top for your new boat?"

the man answered "Hell, there wasn't nothing wrong with the top, I transferred it to the new boat"

A Sad Day.

Agreed. I never formally met him but I know he was a good man. He will be missed.
