BS I'll believe it when I see it. Dean Smith will have a heart attack.

No way that happens. He has never held a head coach position. If the AD picks Ford over a guy like Wittenburg, I'll go crazy. This whole coaching search is really driving me nuts. Who knows how this will turn out. There is a possibility that we will be without Simmons, Brackman, and Atsur next year. On top of that, we may lose some of our incoming class and have already lost a top recruit for '07. One thing is for sure, I'm losing hair over this.

Charlotte Observer reported it and has now retracted it. Apparently their only source was Phil.....and he must have been drunk at the time :-)

That would be one sure way to shut off the flow of $$$$'s from the Wolfpackers. I think Betty Ford probably has a better chance.

dirtyoldsailor is right, they have now retracted his name as a possible candidate. You're right wolfpack03, this search is even beginning to drive me nuts! im not sure, but i believe the WVU coach is the leading candidate

The WVU coach pulled his name out of the search either yesterday or Wednesday night. We are basically back at nothing. A lot of people are talking about Wittenberg, Greg Marshall, Bobby Lutz, and a few other mid-major coaches. One of the craziest rumors that I have heard is that Rick Barnes is going to take over at Kentucky and that we will get Tubby Smith. Rriiiiiiggghhhhttttt.

These rumors make me laugh and piss me off at the same time.

At least we can be sure N.C. State will give him a chance- they let Herb stick around for 7 or 8 years before he had any success. So there's one thing to be proud of for us Wolfpack fans.

Tom- looks like you're missing a good weekend in the kayaks after all! FWIW I don't pay any attention to the weekend forcast till Thursday. chip.

He seems to be assembling a really good staff. I'm looking forward to the change. I went over to campus Saturday evening for the meet-n-greet with the fans. There was a lot of excitement in the stands.

I have stated this on several other forums. I would rather lose every game next year than watch another year of Herb's offense.
