As most of you know I am new to all this so I have a question about wind direction. I thought that wind direction was the direction of travel, for instance, WSW was traveling WSW.

I was just studying the charts and found that I may be wrong about wind direction. It appears that if the forecast says a WSW wind it is coming from the WSW not traveling WSW. So it is actually traveling ENE Is this correct? If so I've been doing it wrong and that would explain a few things LOL.

If it says WSW that is the direction the wind is coming from.

3-5' @ 5 sec's lost its appeal to me a long long time ago... doesn't help that its in the middle of the winter either.

I have no desire to drive that far to have the shit get kicked out of me, especially when I have to work the next day.

I admire your enthusiasm though. You're on the short list of people I call next time.

Going to make the call tonight. Tower numbers were amazing today and very fishable. Winds and seas already growing so most likely not going out.

Went out of Wildlife boat launch about 9 and tried inshore for a bit. Nothing so we headed to Yaupon and couldn't keep the small sea bass of the hooks. A couple we could have kept, but they were too close so we threw them back. Had a few black drum and sime nice sized grunts also. Wind picked up so we headed back in. It was a fun day and everyone enjoyed it.
