From one KenCraft 235 owner to another, welcome to the club. That one looks familiar. You will absolutely love this boat. The best 23 CC on the planet. End of discussion!
Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. I hope to get her bloody soon but first I've got to learn how to use the Furuno GP-7000F and figure out how to download a bunch of waypoints. I just replaced all the cushions and am having new five-panel curtains made as well as a rear fold-down bench seat for my crew members to ride in comfort on those long stream trips. She has tons of power, almost too much for me. I've had the 'pleasure' of partially filling up the tank already and all I can say is 'OUCH'. Guess I oughta name her OPEC.
For those of you who think you recognize her, this boat was Clay Croom's (Kencraft VP) personal tournament boat in '02 and won about $25,000 that year. The second owner kept her on a lift around Morehead City. Total engine hours are about 200. Other electronics in addition to the 7000F NT are Furuno GP-36 DGPS as backup, Icom 504 VHF w/Digital 529 antenna (all installed by Mark Miller, Offshore 3144). The boat is kept at Holden Beach Marina.
Like I said, can't wait to get up a crew and go get her bloody.
Hal
PS-Tarnold, Offshore 3144, Preoccupation, et al, just because I'm no longer boatless doesn't mean I'm not ready to crew for you guys on short notice (and vice/versa).
hblac, welcome to the kencraft club....tough as nails boat....Love mine....I see where your at Holden Beach, look for me around Ocean Isle, I fish most weekends down that way and a few days during the week
Very nice. I just ordered one myself. Can you tell me where the rod holders along the transom drain? I want to install 6 but i am concerned about the battery swithces.
Hal,
Looks good to me. Looks like I might have to sell more dipel for ya this year to help you pay for the fuel shes going to burn. Let me know when you want to bring up north and fish some real water around oregon inlet.
See ya,
martin
Sweet ride Hal. Now I'm really bummed about having to skip out on the trip we were trying to get together. I think I might be able to weasel a day or two during the first week of May though. My father will be in town for the week and I have already gotten a "limited use" pass for a day or two of fishing during the week. I think the wife will probably have quit work by then which will greatly improve her mood.
Matt
