Default fishing highrock lake

new to bass fishing. Caught several 4 or so pounders on green lizard. But never have any luck with spinners, crankbait or anything else. What is the secret to know what to use when.

I'm no expert, but since no one else has said anything...

I think plastic worms almost always outfish plugs or spinners. Bass just love them. For me, spinners come in second place. I almost always reel them in just fast enough to make the blade spin. My other brother and I fished the Roanoke river yesterday and spinners outproduced worms and plugs. I think spinners are easier for the fish to find because of the vibes, so they shine in loud environments or in murky water.

Way early in the morning I catch bass by casting shallow running rapalas at the bank. As the day wears on plugs seem to become less effective compared to plastics.

Sometimes after he's had a few drinks, Hotspot will admit to a prior history of bass fishing. Maybe he will post a few tips- his are better than mine. chip.

On the rock for bass, pull a crankbait, Deep diving. Fire tiger or banana. Make hit the bottom. 8-10 ft.

blue and white plug always workd well for me there. Chartureese (sp?) with green back worked 2. But, I liked using a carolina rigged lizzard too much to throw a plug. I'm guessing they are on shallow secondary points with gravel bottom? about 10' or so?

Man I haven't been bass fishing in forever. Need to try it again.
