going for a wek and looking for a place to fish from shore near compass cove hotel. anyone recommend a small charter for some inshore fishing with 2 teenagers. thanx for any info. this new englander is dying to fish.
we'll be heading down this weekend, not for fishing though. The only place we've ever fished down there is in Little River during July. Picked up some nice mullet. Good Luck!!

I'm also a new englander I have a 2nd home in myrtle beach ,the best place to fish is in murrells inlet ,or go to huntington beach state park, when you get to the beach parking you walk to the beach facing the ocean go left and walk about a mile down the beach that will bring you to the jetties.
or you can drive to murrells inlet and rent a jon boat for the day .
Definately check out Murrells Inlet for nearshore/Inshore fishing, You can stop by BOOTY's MArine on HWY 17 BUS or get a charter out of Capt. Dicks Marina.
Same place, they just put a restaurant on the side where you used to register and pay. Now it's pretty much a walk through to pay and out to the boats. Same place, same people, to the locals it's still Dick's.
Actually, CApt DIcks is where all the boats still go out of. The new owners(good friends) took the old capt dicks building and totally revamped it, turning it into a resturaunnt on one side. All of the boats are still there, th NIP, New Capt Bill, Capt Bill III, INstigator, Sea Rake, Sidekick, Sea Spirit, and Blue Water Express. Capt Dicks will and still is on the sign, right under SPUDS for a few more years. Twisted Sister is actually at the old commercial docks as it was explained to me. Nontheless, it is still great fishing!!!!
did a lil research this past weekend and it seemed that The Hurricane Fleet was the most advertised Chartering business down at Myrtle Beach. Might give them a try for some Gulf Stream fishing next time i make a trip down there

I went out with Captn Dicks a few years ago. It was great. Had a good trip and caught Fish. The Captn kept us right over them. I took a Gulf stream trip, all day. Check the net you may find a discount online. Just a thought. Good luck and have a safe trip.
I did a trip on a head boat from the hurricane fleet last year during the shagger's week down at Myrtle. Didn't know it was shag week but the fishing was good and the crew did a good job of tending to the customers on the boat. The wife and I left with a nice cooler full of fish.
