I was in Bo's at lunch in MHC and heard a couple guys talking about it. I tried to overhear details but it sounded like they hooked two and landed one. No clarification on location. Hopefully someone will chime in with better details.

Default Bluefin Tuna

Many fish were brought to the scales today. they are very close to Beaufort inlet. I did maintenance on the boat today and got bait and rods ready. I am heading out in the morning to try my luck.

Fished today from daylight til 3:00. No love from the tuna. I've never seen the scope stay so blank for so long.
Fished from AR-315 to almost the Shad boat buoy. Hit the sea buoy, Trawler buoy, Dead tree hole, Barge wreck.....and out to about 7 miles off.
Maybe next sat. the tuners will show. I think the fish moved offshore to deeper water with this storm coming in.

What are the BFT landing requirements by DMF/ coastguard for private vessels with standard NC commercial license?
I hear all sort of confusing stuff about life raft versus not needing a life raft if you are lures than 15 miles offshore.

SOBX32, this is Sailfish 44 from Sebastian Fl. I'm curious, when you say " near Beaufort Inlet", how many miles offshore, and what is the depth of water ? Again just curious. Capt. Billy

Default Bluefin

One fish was caught 2 miles off the beach in 50 ft of water. Another caught 4 miles off. My friends caught theirs 8 miles out of the inlet on a wreck. They were very close. They were following some big schools of bait.
