Default 28 Buddy Davis cc vs Regulator 28 cc

Did not see the regional groups I am sure there are some owners of both of these boats in the Carolinas......Looking for some constructive criticism or any pros or cons of either boat. I am torn between the two boats...thanks in advance

Reg for me.....better dealer network....great customer service and resale. If all is normal for Buddy Davis the company won't be around or will be sold before too long...his history of longevity is not good. It is a beautiful boat, though.

Both good boats! Can't go wrong either way! I assume you are talking about the 26 Reg? Both priced around the same also.

Really two different boats in my view. The BD is a downsized sportsfisherman with a Carolina flair bow. Lots of "nice" touches that will require some level of upkeep. The Reg 26 is a pure center console made for offshore fishing and being able to run hard and fast to the fish.........I'd term the BD as more of a cruise to the fish style. The Reg also is made to be easy to maintain with just a bucket of soap and a mop and a little hose down and you're done. Both beautiful boats in their own right, but very different "styles" in my opinion.

On the comment about builder longevity............the Maxwells have been there from day one..........Davis on the other hand has had an interesting job/business history to say the least. If I were you, I'd visit both shops........Davis is building these in Wanchese at the Seafood Industrial Park......or at least he was........and the Regulator plant is over in Edenton about an hour to the west.

Good luck with your decision.
