Greetings,
First time on your forum. I am a longtime user of the flyfishing forum in New England.
I am coming down to Sunset Beach, NC for the week after Easter and I would like to try my hand at flyfishing the surf. (I will also have a couple younger boys with me who will want to use their spinning rods). Can anyone share any info on where to start and what fish might be available from shore at that time of year? Also if there is a good shore guide or boat guide that I might be able to use. Or a good shop down there that could steer me in the right direction. Any suggestions on flies or spinning baits would be appreciated. I have fished the Cape Cod area for the past 40 something years, so I have alot of equipment already, but could sure use some local NC knowledge.

Scruff - Not sure about guides, etc. in Sunset, but if you drive up one beach to Ocean Isle and go to the Ocean Isle Fishing center, you can get all the info you want, plus can get a charter there if interested. They have a website also. Check it out.
