Did some catfishing with the Mrs. on Sat. Morning started out really nice calm and over cast. Then the wind, snow and rain came. Stayed that way most of the day. Late afternoon the skies cleared, sun popped out and the temp started to drop quick. Conditions seemed to bother us a lot more than the catfish. We used fish finder rigs with large chunks of gizzard shad on the James River. Anybody wanting more info can PM me. Fished ranged from 20 to 46 lbs. We put nine in the boat and missed/lost that many more.
We had a great guide in Neil Renouf, Neil worked really hard all day long in adverse weather condtions.

Great job y'all! You and the Mrs. are some tough customers indeed.
I'm sending a PM to find out details as I have never actively catfished before, caught one by accident one time and want to try it with the family a few times this year.

Big fish, how do they fight?

all fish were released, We do like to eat catfish but don't keep anything over 5 lbs. We didn't catch anything under 20 lb., darn! Started snowing about 8:30 AM quit about 3:00 PM, 33 degrees, wind N 15-20 during the day. Wool under rain gear helped, but keeping wet hands warm was a challenge. Hope to go back soon,
