Well Ive tried the Lanier trip about 5 times so far....great lake, only came away skunked once!!! But at 70miles 1 way....and 10mpg....its getting costly. So Im gonna shoot up Hwy 29 tomorrow ( I live in Danielsville GA now) and try out Hartwell, never been there not sure where Im gonna put in or get bait....(much less where to fish).......if anybody's got some info I'd appreciate it.....heck if anybody wants to go.....PM me we can set something up.

Thanks,

Brad

the bait shop on HWY 24 near anderson for bait..

get yourself a lake map,Hartwell is a very good size lake.

i take it you will be striper fishing?if so the hot spot this time of year is the conneross area near clemson. you will find lots of fish but getting them to bite seems to be the problem

Waybe at the bait shop can help you with anymore info.

good luck..

Hopkins spoons and similar other jigging spoons (get some white, yellow and pink) in the areas around Seneca Marina and West Point Stevens plants.

Find the river channel, mark fish, jig.

You can catch a mess of hybrids in no time.

ctoolman summed it up.
The Bait Shop is right off of hwy 24 which you can get to off of I 85. A good spot to launch is Broyles landing and you can head up the Seneca River or Tugaloo River section of the lake.
Fish have been around the Coneross area of Seneca and up toward the upper end of the lake near hwy 178(clemson Blvd). I marked fish deep last week but the cold front shut them down, you should hit it just about right.

Get you a lake map and Hartwell is very well marked with buoys.

Let us know if you need anymore help.

Well I wasnt skunked!!! I went in on the south end of the lake.....right near downtown Hartwell, tried a few creeks with no luck, moved north alittle and finally found some bait on the FF, caught 5 really nice spots, but no stripers. Gonna give it a go again tomorrow, its 30 miles from my house in Danielsville GA (going up Hwy 29), do yall think it be better to ride up I 85 and put in on the north side of the lake to find more fish, or just ride via boat??

Thanks for the heads up and info, tomorrows 65 degree temp has gotta bring some fish out, it was beautiful out there today.

CYA out there.

I will launch as close to my fishing area as possible, that is why I said Broyles Landing. You can pretty much reach all of the lake within 15-30 minutes of a boat ride from there this time of year.

Again try up the Seneca River near Clemson in what we call the Coneeross/Oconee Point area and that is where the fish have been.
