Default NC tax rebate form

Does anyone recall the site to get the state tax rebate form for the gas used in boats?

I recieved mine in the mail last week also. It always seems that no matter how fast I send it back to them ,the refund check is always really slow in coming.

Hotspot, can you personally deduct the tax or do you have to be a charter or guide service?

Any boat owner can use the form. I always keep all of my receipts even if they are not required. I also keep all receipts for yard toy fuel as well.

Good to know!!! My engines love fuel! Sure wish I could deduct the 2 stroke oil. This gives me a New Years resolution... KEEP MY GAS RECEIPTS.

This is a little off topic and doesn't apply to me but I was wondering something. If you use your vessel commercially and write off 100% of the fuel as an expense do you still get the state tax back? If you do get the state tax back, is it entered as income since you already expensed the fuel?

Shag, partially correct. Brown Dog writes off the entire cost of the fuel including taxes but does NOT apply for the tax refund. It's not double dipping, it's just an unnecessary paper step. With that said, if I did write off the cost of fuel and THEN applied for the refund it would have to be entered as income from "the business".

OR........ I could apply for the all expenses paid vacation being offered by the IRS...... I couldn't find any of their locations that I really want to visit though...........................
