Default Fishing on Bald Head

I am spending Turkey Day on Bald Head and since my boat is put away for winter I will be limited to shore based fishing. Any reports of anything hitting in the surf off Bald Head? Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.

Thanks Capt. Jon. Coincedentally, I was just in a meeting here in Charlotte with a guy that said the exact same thing. I will definately be prepared to fish for bass in the ponds.

Places to go (at least in summer time):[*]Take Cape Creek Road to beach access. Walk downto the hook, end of inlet. Water drops off 20' real quick. Flounder, reds, trout.[*]Walk along marina entrancewall alongside farthest from ferry landing. Will have to go whole way around to get there. Fish right between piling and rocks along wall. Rocks can eat you up so take xtra gear.Trout, flounder.[*]Go to East Beach, take walkway from Schouls Club out to beach. Head left toward Frying Pan Shouls. Fish rising tide. Use wire leader, BIG SHARKS, blues, reds.[*]At end of road which goes by marina bathhouse is access to bald head creek. Not much success myself there, good success at others above.[/list]
Good Luck

Thanks for all the info. I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday but since I have three young kids, I guess I'll just have to wait 15 or 20 years for that. I''l just have to make do with a crazy 5 days with some good times at the fishin' hole.

Happy Thanksgiving

Sorry for the slow response. Have been busy with work and holidays and have not been on the site lately. As for how we did, not so good. My 7 yr. old daughter caught a keeper flounder in the surf on the south side of the island, but that was it. All the recommended spots were fished and looked like they would be good spots, but absolutely no action. Bald Head is a beautiful place and we might be looking at houses there soon.
