Default THT'ers Blast and cast weekend???

I was hoping to organize a weekend get together for some THT'ers. Shoot clays one day and fish a lake the next? Thinking November at central location like Raleigh area? Chime in if you are interested. I want to tow my boat it needs the hours, but extra gas money would buy more beer. Not to mention I'm sure I'll want more tackle after meeting with HOTSPOT for the Stripers. Not sure of lake location and or date? Locals know best. Friday after Thanksgiving maybe? Would be great to get 5-7 boats 10-12 guys? Whatcha all think? Brian

The shooting range is close to Jordan Lake. We could go for some stripers one day and go blast one day. The hotels around Sanford are nice enough and cheap enough.

If everyone wants to stay in Sanford, maybe the Admiral and I could host a Low Country Bowl one night.

Deep River Sporting Clays

I am sure Greg can tell y'all about the range, I have never been out there cause I can't hit the broad side of a barn.

And, I can take up to three THT'ers out on my boat so the folks that live way out don't have to tow.

I'll take the first three that send me a PM.

I would also be more than happy to give up some of my trolling techniques for a cold one or four as long as someone will help me hit at least ONE clay.

I think Deep River and Jordan is the ticket. I shoot Deep River all the time. It's all automatic throwers and can get interesting, especially around the pond. Bill has a really tall tower that is a hoot. HOTSPOT, get me a striper and I'll bring the beer and even break your targets for ya.

I might be interested as well, although I live in Cary my boat is racked in Beaufort. I haven't shot clays in probably 3 years so it may take me a little bit to warm up.

If I can get on Hot Spots boat, count me in as long as the date is doable.

Jordan and deep river it is!

Now what about the date? I know its going to be hard to fit everybody in for one weekend. Is the thanksgiving weekend feasible?

Bronco and Hotspot, sounds like a great idea...nothing like busting clays, and hopefully the striper bite will be on as well. As far as the boil, I have another burner and large stew-pot with basket, let me know if I can help Hotspot. It would be nice to get a striper or two, and we have wanted to check out Deep River for some time now. Keep us posted!!!

Deep River is a good range and nice central place to shoot with lakes close by. San Lee gun club is just around the corner about 5 miles away....if anybody prefers high/low house skeet I can get us in there, too. Sounds fun. Greg

The only November weekend date I have open is the 12th and 13th.

The shooters will have to arrange the gun part of this as I have no contacts.

Someone jump in and figure out the shooting part of this, then we can look at specific activities on which days.

Greg, I'm also more of a skeet shooter than sporting clays (I only own 2, 12 ga guns) but will shoot either to get to go.........

I would be interested too. I live in Cary. I have been to DeepRiver Sporting clays a couple of times. I would love to get some pointers for Stripers at Jordan. I could probably take up to 3 on my boat also. I have an 18ft McKee with a down rigger, but not trolling motor.

My availability will depend on the date.

To be honest guys, I'm not much on the blast part, but might give it a shot (pardon the pun) Would love to tag along and learn about the cast part, already contacted Hot Spot.
So is there a consensus on the date?
