hope the winds lay down so you can actually get in the ocean. fish off lockwood or if you dont mind the run go fish yaupon reef and the river channel for some smokers. Over 500 fish weighed in at the open and almost all of them came off oak island or the river channel. pogies are right on the beach. good luck wish i could get back out there.

There are fish almost everywhere out there right now. The beach, Yaupon, Lockwood, Shallotte, 90/90, River channel/lighthouse rocks,jungle,15 mile 18 mile. Hopefully the wind will shift back to the west, if it shifts I think the kings will really turn on and hopefully the sea's will lay down also. Pogies are also very plentiful along the beaches. Fall's here!!!
Good luck

I'd try yaupon, but anywhere there is bait there will be kings. We saw one that would have won the tournament sky right outside Shallotte inlet thursday evening. But you better check the forecast. Looks like a lot of 25-35kt. winds and they're not coming from land this week. At least that's what noaa is saying.

Yeah if the conditions improve for this weekend I think we're gonna head out, get some bait off the beach and make our way to Yaupon and if they're not biting we'll make a run somewhere else. Hope the conditions are good!

The beach bite is on.........

Went Saturday morning before the wind shifted to the east and caught all the bait I needed as well as three kings in the 18-25 pound range within 1/2 mile of the Shallotte sea bouy. When the wind shifts back to the west its gonna be.....

......sky rockets in flight, afternoon delight........

Thank god for fall fishing.

we went to yaupon yesterday afternoon. took cigar minnows and had a decent bite about 1 mile to the west of the reef. left the dock at 4pm back at 7pm...great afternoon....seas were almost slick calm.
