Default Thinking about going fishing Saturday....

I just need 17 other fishermen to help split the costs of gas.

Of course the wx forecast is 2 ft seas and zero chance of tstorms when nobody can afford to fish. I was considering going 10-12 nm for kmacs but given gas prices, I am probably going to wait a few weeks until the fall bite really gets going. If it is going to coast a small fortune to fish then I want a good bite. I have heard of few if any regulars from our marina planning to fish this weekend even with the good forecast.

Are most others doing a "wait and see" for gas prices and the fall bite to pick up as well? Comments?

It is going to be real interesting putting enough crew together for the fall wahoo run (affordable for gulf stream fishing).

4 miles in which direction UNCFISH?

Seriously, I am thinking about going drum fishing because of the low fuel burn on the boat but the F150 sure does like to drink it on the way to Whortonsville.

Yep, Drum fishing

UNCFISH, we do not have a lot of corn planted this year and have not picked any yet so I'm headed for Cedar Island on Saturday afternoon. The doves will just have to wait.

2020is, see you on the water?

I was headed out the inlet this morning and the Coast Guard stopped me and said something about maximum capacity rating on a 25 Carolina Classic. This is gas money sir Truely though I'll be fishing Sat and Sun on my boat at my dock for flounder with a livewell full of mullet minnows. What should I set my drags on 30TW's for flounder?

If I can get my crew together and find some bait I will be out drum fishing tonight and maybe tomm night. I leave out of hobucken and usually fish around brant island shoals but may make the run towards swan island since the bite seems to be much better down south this year. Boat name is Seawolf and I usually monitor 16, maybe I will run into you guys. Good luck

I think I am headin to 'da Cape on saturday Scott and probably playing(sitting at anchor, not burning fuel) in the Trent Sunday with the family and staying close to watch football in HD on Sunday night(bro-in-law is a NCSU grad/fan). Hopefully Monday morning will be the time for me to go drummin/floundering or whatever I come up with. I ain't plannin on huntin all weekend and I might run out of fuel before I get to fish Monday. If I get out there on Saturday, I'll holla!!
