We have never had trouble naming our dogs, it was the children we had a hard time naming.....the dog's already had the good names.

The wife and I named our golden retriever Baker. I would have to say I planted that seed after my favorite bourbon.

Some quick-hitters:

Cabo
Boca
Isla (short for Islamorada)
Caicos
Bowline
Flounder (I mean, why not?!)

I named my dog (first one I've owned in MANY decades) SCUBA Dood; then, my wife rescued a kitten from a tree. He purred so loud, sitting on my chest, that I named him EvinRude.

I have a bloodhound named "Biggums"

My pet pea about dog names is not to use people names for pets.

You could use the name of Steve Martins dog in the movie. the Jerk; it was Sh..t Head. HaHa. Just kidding.

Your dog, you go with what you like, just be unique.

My dogs name started out as Barkley, since moving to the beach it has become "Quit rolling on that", "God you stink", "Who ate the ballyhoo?"

When I was tournament fishing many years ago, my son found this Carine Terrier who was abandoned at the Marina. Appropiate name...FISH BOWL.

She lived with us for almost 15years and yes she was the family. Loved the boat and the stinky stuff that she could roll in

Rigger was my choice for my Chesapeke Bay Retriever but my wife over ruled me with Sperry.
