I've got a verizon phone, the service is great. Only problem to watch out for, if it is a corporate account, make sure that they put YOUR name on the account as being authorized to make inquires. My phone is through my fathers business, and dealing with the customer service is a pain in the a$$. you have to know your federal tax ID to get anything done, I have had several ocations where I was nearly to the point of cursing people out because they wouldn't answer a simple question b/c i didn't know the tax id. If you have a personal account, this is not a problem at all. my sister has one, and has no problems with customer service at all.

I had Verizon in Chapel Hill and it was perfect for me from RDU all the way down I 70 and in the AB area. Usually could make calls while 15 miles offshore on the east side. I moved to Wilmington and had to switch to Alltell. It has been good so far. The only weak spot I have is at my house...that's frustrating. Verizon currently doesn't offer service in Wilmington (they have coverage, but no local service), but that is supposed to change soon. They have a huge building down here with several thousand employees. Whatever plan you go with, make sure you get the Statewide option that allows you to borrow the signal from the other carriers. That's what Verizon and Alltell do.
