Random Quote: Beware the bolts from north or west;In south or east the bolts be best.
I believe they are built near Rocky Mount. They have them at Webb's in Rocky Mount. Good place to compare them to a Bay Rider since they carry both. Nice looking boat, a little narrower, not as heavy, and faster than the Bay Riders.
Call Angler's Marine in Wilmington, I shopped around and they where the best deal around for a BayRider. They were also cheaper than a Riddick and a lot nicer. #910-755-7900
I did not intend for my post to sound like I prefer the Riddick, just that smaller and lighter will get more speed with the same ponies. I do think that is a selling point they are using for those boats.
If you get pricing from Anglers as compared to Webb's PM me and let me know what the difference is. At Webb's ask for Fred Page. I called the four NC dealers when purchasing my boat, all but Anglers replied with pricing. I called Anglers 3 times over a two week period left messages, I never spoke to a human and never received a return call.
I am very pleased with my Bay Rider. Do a search for Bay Rider and Kencraft. Kencraft will get you more reading on their V-hulls but it will get you an idea of how well regarded all of their boats are.
Good luck in your search and keep us posted on what you decide.
I too called all the dealers in NC for a price on a bayrider. I bought mine from Anglers, every time I called I spoke with CW or his son. I also called Webb's and a few other places but some how I bought the boat $900.00 less at Anglers and it came with more options. As for the boat I love it, the best boat I ever owned. You cant go wrong with a bayrider. One other thing I liked about Anglers was that they offered mobile service. So if I had a problem or needed service work done they would come to my house and do it. Now that's great in my book. Maybe this will be of some help to you.
I know the people that make the riddick bay runner . woody reddick and ronnie eason are to very good people . they have have put together a very well build boat and will stand behind it 100% .webbs does not carry the boat anymore had a conflic with kencraft put you can get them at outback marine in morehead and copes marine in wilson .as far as the kencraft bay rider i have one ,in fact it is the very first one they build , it is also a well builb boat ,it is the 23 ft model and it is a tank . As for angler marine i would stay as far away from CW as possible , this my opion based on what i heard from his former employers.
SeaRat have you ever done business with Anglers Marine or CW, if so then you have an a say, but if you didn't then it is just hear say. As for me they did everything I expected and more. The best thing I can tell you is not to judge someone without meeting them or doing business with them...
I took a demo ride in the Intruder and the Riddick yesterday. The Intduder is one fine boat nice ride and very well built. Glen Rose was great answering all my questions and very helpful. I would love to have one but it is a little out of my price range. The Riddick is a nice boat also and the guys at Outback marine were very helpful.
I have been gone for a few days and know that there have been a lot of changes made lately. Do you mind pointing out what in particular you are referring to? Can we no longer reccomend (or not) dealers that we have experience with?
Woody Riddick is a friend and has been in the boat building business for approximately 23 years. He is very passionate about building a good boat. I have a 2160 Bay Rider which I like alot, but I would look seriously at the Riddick boat if I were buying today.
If you have not already purchased one, please don't! After the Raleigh Boat show I also looked very closely at Riddick. A little birdie told me that the deck of the boat is plywood, which really did not bother me until I looked closer. I took my digital camera an stuck it in the bilge area an took four pictures, and I was truly shocked by what I saw. The wood on the bottom had no fiberglass or resin at all on it. I think you would be much happer with a Bay Rider by Kencraft, and a equally equiped boat was only about $800.00 more. Send me a email at bhoneycutt@ec.rr.com and I will send you the pictures of the Riddick if you want to see them.
bhoneycutt - could you email me some pics please. I was looking at the Riddick and would be interested in seeing first hand what you are talking about.
You can also compare the two by going to Outback, then right down the street to Bouge Sound Boat Co. Outback carries the Riddick, and Bouge Sound carries the Kencraft. I wouldn't hesitate at all to do business with either company. And they're only a couple hundred yards apart, so makes for an easy way to compare the two quickly.
Good luck.
And Wiley, I'd be interested to know the answer to Scott's question as well. All I could see were guys voicing their opinions or experience with the boats.
Thanks for the pics - looks to me like all areas are glassed in. I think what you are probably seeing is an area(underside of deck) that may not be glassed but does have the resin covering.
